Think and Grow Rich
Napoleon Hill’s timeless guide to wealth and achievement through mindset and persistence.
Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
The Starting Point of All Achievement
This is the grandfather of all self-help books. Commissioned by Andrew Carnegie (the richest man in the world at the time), Napoleon Hill spent 20 years interviewing 500 millionaires to discover the "Secret" of success.
The answer? Desire.
Think and Grow Rich argues that if you have a burning desire, and you transmute that desire into action through faith and persistence, you can achieve anything.
The Core Concepts
Hill presents 13 Principles, but a few stand out as revolutionary.
Thoughts are Things
Your brain is a broadcasting station. If you fill it with thoughts of poverty and failure, you will attract those things. If you fill it with thoughts of success and service, you will attract opportunity. This is the precursor to the "Law of Attraction."
Sexual Transmutation
This is the most controversial chapter. Hill found that the most successful men were those who had high sex drives but learned to channel that energy into their work rather than dissipation. Creative energy and sexual energy are the same force.
The Mastermind
No man succeeds alone. You must form a "Mastermind" alliance—a group of people who are in harmony with your purpose. Two minds create a third, invisible force that is greater than the sum of the parts.
Should You Read This Book?
It is dated in its language, but the principles are eternal. It is the source code for Tony Robbins, Bob Proctor, and every guru you see today.
